Pink Tartan Holiday & Resort 2014 Collection

Kimberly Newport-Mimranis one of our Canadian fashion woman of the 21st Century. Mom, Wife of the infamous Joe Mimran (from Joe Fresh), President and Design Director of Pink Tartan‘s women wear. Newport-Mimranfounded Pink Tartan in 2002, after graduating from a fashion merchandising and manufacturing management program, with this compilation of experience, she went on to establish Pink Tartan a global label known for understated luxury and sophisticated sportswear. Later in 2004 Newport-Mimran opened a New York showroom and the company now includes a design studio based in Toronto and new office opening in LA. The Pink Tartan line is carried at Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Hudson’s Bay Company and Holt Renfrew as well as specialty stores across North America, Central America, Middle East and Europe.

October 30, 2014 I sent my beautiful correspondent Leanna Bailot to meet with Newport-Mimran and photograph the beautiful Holiday and Resort 2014 collection in Nordstrom Calgary. You will see luxurious heavy knits, tweeds, and beautiful exaggerated feminine silhouettes not boxy androgyny which I quite frankly am a little tired of.

Instead, whether dressing for the winter or warm holiday, you can be elegant, conservative and extremely graceful in these pieces. Our friends at fashion Calgary interviewed Newport-Mimran on the collection and here is what she said:
