KO Review- Fall 2015 Men's Wear

What a week it has been in mens fashion! From minimalist normcore of Balenciaga all the way across the spectrum to Rick Owens full frontal exposé, it was 50 shades of grey and some navy. It looks like the economy has dictated the mood of fashion (at least on the patriarchical side). Although the common monochromatic grey scale is consistent, there are a wide range of textures to work with. Heavy wools to light nylon, the structure of fabrics is extensive this upcoming season. The mood is a “leave me alone” look, shying away from bold statements or attention grabbing frocks.

Can we expect a chilly autumn? If so, men will be looking for protective under garments if they chose the Rick Owens route. Owens stunned the front row and media goers at his show January 22, 2015 when moments into his collection penis were purposefully poking out of the garments. “Boys with their dicks out is such a simple, primal, childish gesture.” Owens admits to trying to have some fun in the midst of a rather bleak on set of 2015 fashion in Paris. Owens collection seemed much more futuristic militant rather than his usual neo-gothic homogeneous black everything. Consistently there is still copious amounts of black, but with much more rigid structure than ever before. There is a building buzz of anticipation for the unveiling of Owens Femme collection in the upcoming weeks ahead.

Leather, pea coats, wide leg or slim fit pants, short black boots, bulky exaggerate knits, grey, beige, white, black, hints of navy and flashes of crimson. Hello Fall 2015 Mens.
