Rag & Bone RTW SS2015
Known for its uncomplicated yet creative approach and A-list NYC celeb following, Rag & Bone never disappoints. Moving forward from the bold black and white aesthetic from last years Spring 2014 to now, Spring 2015 echos Spring 2014’s cultivation in materials, but has expanded the female silhouette. Tomboy-ish basics are prevalent, billowing maxi dresses, shirts, flowy baggy pants and jackets devoured the models and the Rag & Bone 2015 runway.
David Neville and Marcus Wainwright created a soft unspoken drama this season where the heroine is a sporty and naturally female. Confident enough to wear white as liberally as she would wear black in urban terrain. The same woman who can look sleek and sexy in a leather tank top, will walk the city in their floral capacious almost camouflage looking coat.
More and more this season we are seeing essential make-up. Nothing more, nothing less. Just basic and natural. The hair was flowing straight behind the ears, parted to one side. A very simple “I woke up like this” look.
The dominant piece from this season was look number 4, the grey front zip cape with hanging straps on the side edges (see above). If there was a female super hero fighting against evil in NYC, she would certainly own this piece.
Footwear on the runway bore a resemblance to the Birkenstocks craze we experienced in this past Summer 2014: buckled, slip on, sporty sandals and sneakers. They all lend to a very casual aesthetic this SS2015 of Rag & Bone as did the side bags and cross-body satchels.
