KO @ J.Crew Opening Party in Chinook Centre Mall
Last night was the official opening party of the new J.Crew store in Chinook Centre Mall in Calgary. The store front windows looked stunning, showcasing the summer collection, designed by Alberta College of Art + Design visual communication design students. I am all about promoting arts in Calgary, so that made me smile upon arrival. There is something to be said about large American Retailers like J.Crew and the way they do business… Great quality, exceptional customer service and beautiful merchandizing is just the icing on the cake to the style that J.Crew exudes with the bright colors and inviting patterns. The clothes are simple, classic and casual chic. Casual enough to wear daily, and chic enough that first lady Michelle Obama is often seen wearing J.Crew!
In attendance at last nights party was Tom Mora,J.Crew’s head of woman’s wear design. I unfortunately didn’t get a chance to speak with him between all the shopping and catching up with people, but the clothes said it all to me anyway. I ended up leaving with three shirts that were exactly what I was looking for (I have had an obsession with woman’s tuxedo shirt lately). There were tray after tray of hor d’oeuvres and champagne… what an opening!!! I am so excited to finally be able to shop at J.Crew and not have to worry about the duties and taxes when the garments arrive.
