Jonas Paul Eyewear
My daughter Persia has been in glasses since she was less than a year old. When she was very little, we noticed one of the eyes turning in and when we checked had her checked at the specialist it turned out she had esotropia where one of her eyes turned in slightly. We have spent the last 5 years treating her condition with patching one eye, atropine drops, and various different prescriptions for her glasses to straighten the eyes to correct her vision.
Putting glasses on a toddler was very difficult. Firstly, they were not durable and often broke resulting in many expensive repairs or replacements. Secondly, it is really hard to find cute kids glasses that are reasonably priced. Now that Persia is six years old, and wears a uniform to school, she has become choosier with picking out glasses because she wants them to reflect her personal style.
I recently stumbled upon a children’s eyewear line called Jonas Paul Eyewear. I found a selection of adorable kids glasses in various colors and styles. Persia was so excited when I showed her online.
Jonas Paul Eyewear was started by Ben and Laura Harrison. A couple who have given their ingenuity to the mission of equipping their visually impaired son, Jonas, and other children with creative, fashion-forward kids glasses. Upon searching for suitable children’s eyewear for Jonas, the Harrison’s discovered one missing factor in existing options for children : fashion-forward kids frames at an accessible price point. Jonas Paul Eyewear exists to provide function and new form to children’s vision.
Aside from making the most adorable cool kids glasses on the market, for every pair of Jonas Paul Eyewear kids glasses purchased, they partner with Restoring Vision to provide prescription glasses to children in need and CBM International to bring vision to a person in need through corrective surgery.
Jonas Paul Eyewear seeks to inspire confidence, provide purpose, and meet the needs of those who share our vision and those whose vision is compromised.
The number of individuals living with a curable visual impairment is overwhelming. Through the service of CBM International and Restoring Vision, a purchase of a Jonas Paul Eyewear frame can help cover the cost of an individual’s eye care and deliver sustainable change to these individuals and their communities. Their partnership provides corrective eyeglasses for children, antiparasitic medicines to prevent Onchocerciasis (also known as river blindness), and cataract surgeries for both children and adults. <3
