Diane von Furstenberg Spring 2016 RTW NYFW
Diane von Furstenberg’s new Spring 2016 collection premiered at New York Fashion Week this past week. Her show was named Fortvna, after the Roman goddess for luck whom Furstenberg has received inspiration from for years. The collection is sensual, flirtatious, and colourful. What I have always loved about DVF, however, is how wearable her designs are and this collection is no exception. The collection empowers the everyday woman to find the freedom that inspires her in the clothes she wears.

I particularly loved this piece from the collection. The patterns and colours are so revitalizing. It makes me visualize a relaxed woman on a warm day that is comfortable in her own skin. The patterns and colours seem to be inspired by natural elements such as waves breaking over reef, a sunset on a warm evening, and colourful flowers that are always most beautiful in their segmented loneliness.

This look provides a different take on the very feminine design we have seen with the rest of the collection. We can see a more androgynous outfit with colourful accents that provides the look with a very distinctive flair. The grey sets off the pink perfectly and the look is sophisticated enough to wear at the office while still feeling relaxed and at ease.
