Calgary Philharmonic Italian Gala
I love an excuse to get out and socialize while people in this city are raising money for the arts. There can never be enough of these events as far as I am concerned. Especially when you mix music with fashion. On Friday night November 1st, 2013 theCalgary Philharmonic Orchestra presented a Holt Renfrew exclusive Italian Gala, hosted by W. Brett Wilson.
The event took place in the beautiful Devonian Gardens and included a VIP catered reception, followed by a Milan-style Fashion Show showcasing hot off the runway styles from designers such as Valentino, Armani, and Dolce & Gabbana. Following the fashion show, Devonian Gardens was transformed into a Tuscan market for the post-party. The quaint market featured Italian food, wine, coffee, gelato, and Vespas, all while listening to a European style DJ.
“The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra is very excited to be partnering with The Core & Holt Renfrew for this event,” says Paula Davies, Director of Development with the CPO. “This is a wonderful way to celebrate one of the most influential countries in the world when it comes to fashion & music, while bringing together our local Italian community and Calgarians to enjoy great food, wine, and Italian culture.“
The Italian Fashion Gala, presented by Lido of Battistella, was a special event taking place during the CPO’s Festival Italiano, a three week long music festival that plays tribute to Italy’s musical and cultural heritage.
